According to the police, the man was living in a double-story building in Ramesh Nagar along with his wife and four sons. "While leaving the house, he told his family members that he is going to the gurudwara," the police said.

According to a senior police official, the incident occurred at around 11.57 am on Wednesday at platform no-1 of Ramesh Nagar Metro Station.

"The man jumped on the track and collided with the Blue Line Metro going to Vaishali. A senior police official said that he suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead.

"During a search, no ID was found which could identify the deceased. Efforts are being made identify the deceased and further investigation is going on," the senior police official added.

This incident comes 46 days after Delhi Police Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) allegedly jumped before a train on the busy Yellow Line and committing suicide. Apart from this, a Metro employee has also committed suicide by jumping from the seventh floor of the Metro headquarters recently.

Despite the steps taken by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to set up automatic coach-entrance doors on some platforms like the network, where these doors are to be installed at other stations, to prevent cases of passengers jumping on the tracks There have been no measures.

Such incidents not only obstruct the operation of the Delhi Metro, but the lives of hundreds of passengers are also at risk.

On March 8, a person jumped in front of an incoming train at GTB Nagar Metro Station. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was treated by doctors. One such incident happened on March 22 when a women jumped in front of a metro train at Noida Sector 16 Metro Station. The woman's body was taken out by the personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
