After protests by the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and NRC on Friday, 65 people have been sent to jail in Ghaziabad in connection with stone pelting and ruckus at six places after the prayers. The accused were produced in the court from where they were sent to judicial custody. 396 accused including former MLA Zakir Ali, Councilor Salauddin, SP leader Parvez Chaudhary, Councilor husband Arif Malik and Peace Party leader Shahid Saifi are still absconding. He is being punished for his arrest.
The SSP said that it is being punished at night. As many as 15 teams have been formed to arrest the accused in the entire district.
