With 48 new cases of corona virus infection in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday, the total number of infected in the state reached 738. A senior official of the state government said that out of the 48 cases reported, there were 42 people who had come to join the Markaz of Tabligi Jamaat in Nizamuddin, Delhi. State Health Secretary Bila Rajesh said that a 45-year-old man died in Vellore on Tuesday due to the corona virus, which is the eighth death due to the disease in the state.
They said that this person had come in contact with a corona virus infected patient. Bila Rajesh told that in 48 new cases, 42 came in contact with the same source (person) and they also have a Malaysian citizen. At the same time, 21 people infected with this have been discharged from the hospital.
He told reporters here that so far a total of 21 people have recovered from Covid-19 and have been discharged from hospitals, including a 72-year-old man. He said that the condition of the patients is stable. According to the Health Secretary, 679 out of a total of 738 infected people had participated in the Tabligi Jamaat program in Nizamuddin area of Delhi.
The health secretary said, “There are a total of 19 test labs of corona virus in the state, of which 12 are from the government and seven from the private sector. So far a total of 6,095 people have been tested for blood samples.” He said that the aim of the government is to prevent the infection of corona virus from entering the third phase and the employees of the health department are working in this direction.
