A horrific accident took place on Thursday in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. A fire broke out in a 6-story factory here. 40 people died in this accident. Around 30 people are injured and many are still missing. Many people jumped down from the burning building to save their lives. The fire started on the upper floors of the factory. It is not yet known how many people are trapped inside. However, those who came out have expressed apprehension that it is difficult for the people trapped inside the factory to escape.

The factory is located in the Roopganj

The fire broke out at the Food and Beverage Factory located in the Roopganj area around 5 pm on Thursday, police said. The fire could not be brought under control till Friday morning. Fire department and police officials said that 25 people have been rescued so far. Nothing can be said about how many deaths have taken place. Once the fire is brought under control, a search operation will be conducted inside the factory. Officials said several people were scorched and several people were injured after jumping off the building.

Dozens of workers were present in the Factory

A worker said that dozens of workers were present in the factory when the fire broke out. Fire incidents are common in Bangladesh due to non-compliance with safety rules. In February last year, a fire broke out in some apartments in Dhaka itself. 70 people lost their lives in this accident.

The doors on the stairs were closed

A laborer told me that when the fire broke out on the third floor, the doors on both sides of the stairs were closed. During this, there were 48 people on that floor. I don't know what happened to them. Another laborer said that after the fire broke out, 13 workers ran towards the roof and on seeing black smoke was filled.

Nazrul Islam, who was present at the spot, told that he came after hearing the news of the accident. He was looking for his nephew, who was not picking up the phone. Now his phone is not working.
