39231 Passengers Traveled in 832 Flights on Monday, Passenger Airline Services also Started in Andhra Pradesh

Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Tuesday that a total of 832 flights were operated till midnight on Monday, May 25, and a total of 58,318 passengers completed their journey to their destinations, he also said that passenger air service has also started in Andhra Pradesh from Tuesday, due to which the number of passengers will increase further.

Hardeep Singh Puri tweeted that happiness has returned to the airports and the passengers are again flying back into the air and the sky has started to stir again. It should be noted that Passenger airlines will start in West Bengal from May 28, which will further increase the number of flights and air passengers.

Domestic flights started operating in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday, the second day of the commencement of domestic flight services across the country. The state, however, was showing little hesitation in operating flights earlier due to increasing cases of Covid-19, whereas officials said that the first aircraft carrying 79 passengers from Bangalore reached Vijayawada at 6.55 am and he said that the SpiceJet flight departed with 68 passengers on its return.

The first flight arrived at Bangalore at seven in the morning at Visakhapatnam Airport, whereas the central government announced on Sunday that there would be no domestic flights flying to Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal, while fewer flights would operate from Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad airports. Officials said on Tuesday that eight flights each from Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam airports would operate throughout the day.
