Being the biggest film of 2020, all eyes were on the release of '83' in April, but the release date of the film was postponed due to Corona virus. The lead actor in this multi-starrer film is Ranveer Singh, who will appear in the role of Kapil Dev. The film is directed Kabir Khan. It is one of the most awaited films highlighting India's historic Cricket World Cup victory in 1983.
On the occasion of the 37th anniversary of the World Cup victory on 25 June, the makers of the film have given a tribute. They tweeted and wrote- 'Magic was created. History was written, on this day, Team India won the World Cup and changed Indian cricket forever. # ThisIs83.' With this, they has also shared a video.

The film is produced by Deepika Padukone, Kabir Khan, Vishnu Vardhan Induri, Sajid Nadiadwala, Phantom Films, Reliance Entertainment and 83 Film Limited and directed by Kabir Khan. The film will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu by Reliance Entertainment and PVR Pictures.
It is known that apart from Ranveer Singh, the film includes Saqib Salim, Amy Virk, Hardy Sandhu, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Chirag Patil, Jeeva, Jatin Sarna, Dherya Karwa, Adinath Kothare, R Badri, Dinkar Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi. The film also stars Deepika Padukone. She will play the role of Romi, the wife of Kapil Dev.
