Three more persons received corona virus test positive in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, taking the total number of people infected in the state to 41. Government spokesman Rohit Kansal said that no new cases of corona virus have been reported from Kashmir today, while three more positive cases have been reported in Jammu division.

With this, the total number of corona virus patients in the Union Territory has increased to 41, of which 27 are being treated in Srinagar and 14 are being treated in hospitals in Jammu. So far, two patients have died of corona virus in Jammu and Kashmir, while two have completely recovered from the infection.

The restrictions were further tightened as people moved and united in the union territory to prevent the spread of corona virus after the second death by Covid-19 in Kashmir on Sunday. Earlier on Saturday, the infection was confirmed in 13 people. Officials said that restrictions continued for the 11th consecutive day on Sunday for the movement and unification of people in Kashmir.

He said that with a view to curbing the spread of the virus, restrictions have been imposed throughout the valley to limit the movement of people. These strict restrictions have been imposed in the early hours of Sunday in the wake of the death of another Covid-19 patient. The deceased was among 13 people found infected on Saturday.

Officials said that most of the roads in the valley have been sealed and security forces have put up barricades at various places. The administration appealed to the people to cooperate in the lockdown and warned of action against those who violate the prohibitory orders. The religious leaders appealed to the people to read Namaz at home and not to visit the mosque.
