The railways have canceled 28 trains running from 23 major cities, including Delhi, since 9 May due to rising Corona infection and shortage of passengers. These include 8 pairs Shatabdi, 2 pairs Janshatabdi, 2 Duronto, 2 Rajdhani and one Vande Bharat train. These trains will not run until further orders.
These include the Shatabdi from Delhi to Kalka, Habibganj, Amritsar, Chandigarh, the capital from Delhi to Chennai and Bilaspur, and the Shatabdi coming from places like Jammu Tawi and Pune. Officials said that in view of increasing passenger shortage due to rising corona cases and the ever-increasing epidemic data, the railways have canceled these trains from May 9 till further orders.
The Central Railway has canceled 23 passenger trains. These include Nagpur-Kolhapur Special till 29 June, CSMT-Kolhapur Special till 1 July, CSMT-Pune Special till 30 June.
Trains canceled from May 9 include New Delhi-Habibganj Shatabdi Special, New Delhi-Kalka Shatabdi Special, New Delhi-Amritsar Shatabdi Special, New Delhi-Dehradun Shatabdi Special, New Delhi-Kathgodam Shatabdi Special and New Delhi-Chandigarh Shatabdi Special Huh. Similarly, Delhi-Dehradun Janshatabdi Special from New May 10 and New Delhi-Una Janshatabdi Special will be canceled from May 9 till further orders.
Railways said that Nizamuddin-Pune Duronto Special will be canceled from May 10 and Sarai Rohilla-Jammu Duronto Special from May 9. Nizamuddin-Chennai Rajdhani Special will be canceled from May 12 and New Delhi-Bilaspur Rajdhani Special from May 11 till further orders. The Delhi-Katra Vande Bharat Special Express has been canceled from May 9 until further orders. Please tell that due to the corona, the movement of regular trains is closed, but the railway is running some special trains.
In the last 24 hours, the data of new patients and deaths has destroyed all the old records. In the last one day, 4 lakh 12 thousand 262 positive cases have been reported across the country, while 3,980 people have lost their lives. This is the second time that more than 4 lakh cases of corona have been reported in a single day. Earlier, on April 30, 4 lakh 2 thousand 14 cases were reported. On that day, 3525 patients died.
