25 Percent Seats Will Increase In BEd, M.ED, DLD From Session 2020-21

In the other teachers' education program, including BEd, M.Ed., DLE, 10 percent of the Economic Weaker Section (EWS) quota has been implemented from this session. In this regard, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has issued the order on Friday.

The Uttar Pradesh government has also approved it. Applying this ten percent reservation to the roster will increase the percentage of 25 percent seats in all the courses. This will increase by about 52 thousand seats in BEd this year. About 30 thousand seats in M.E.D and about 45 thousand seats will increase in the DLAD.

Uttar Pradesh Self Finance Degree College Association president Vinay Trivedi said that after the NCTE order, the process of implementing it has now started in all the colleges and universities. Mahatma Jyotiba Phule University, Bareilly conducted the entrance examination of BEd. 15 July is the last date for admission in BEd. So till Monday, the last date of admission for the university will also be extended.

This time there are much competition for the seats of the B.ED. In the process of direct admission, except Agra University and Meerut University, in other universities, almost 95 percent seats have been filled. Vinay Trivedi said that the implementation of EWS quota will benefit a large number of students. He told that since the session will be of four years of B.Ed from 2020-21, this time too many students are getting admission.
