He said 1,462 new cases were reported from isolated habitat centers, while 1,008 people were found infected during contact tracing. The official said that Khurda district, under which Bhubaneswar falls, had the highest number of 368 cases. Then there were 186 cases in Cuttack and 170 in Angul.
225 deaths in Ganjam so far
He said 4 people have died in Khurda, 3 each in Cuttack and Sundergarh, 2 in Ganjam and 1 each in Balasore, Boudh, Jajpur, Kalahandi and Nayagarh. The official said that there have been 225 deaths in Ganjam so far, followed by 189 in Khurda and 94 in Cuttack.
