Accept Problem with Your Batting! Sanjay Manjrekar Advices Ajinkya Rahane Over his Batting Form

For some Ajinkya Rahane may be a good batsman, but former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar believes that the Rajasthan Royals' captain is facing a lump in his form, which he needs to accept to make it better. Rajasthan Royals failed to defeat Kings XI Punjab while chasing 183 in their previous IPL 2019 encounter, in spite of having a good start and Rahane being on the crease till the 19th over.

"Have felt this for a while now, Ajinkya Rahane is living in denial about his batting form. Once he accepts that there is a problem with his batting, then only can the repair work begin," Manjrekar tweeted after Rajasthan's sixth loss in IPL 2019 on Tuesday night.

As a skipper of Rajasthan, Rahane has played 8 matches scoring 201 runs at an average of 25.12. He has also scored just one fifty and his inability to score quickly has costed Rajasthan in many matches. In the last match, he failed at performing at a crucial moment when Rajasthan needed 40 plus runs in the last 3 overs. Rahane was seen trying to go for big but he could not manage to send the ball to long distance.

In the national team, he had been omitted from many limited-over series due to his inconsistent performances. He last played an ODI in February 2018 and was not even in the discussion for World Cup squad.
