This honor is being given to strengthen the strategic partnership between Russia and India and to promote the friendly relations of the citizens of both countries. It is worth noting that the UAE also had announced the country's highest honor "Zayed" medal a few days ago.
On April 4, the UAE had also decided to nominate PM Modi as its highest civilian award. In this statement released by the Crown Prince of UAE, it was said, "My friend and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi played an important role in strengthening these relations."
