Indian gymnast Deepa Karmakar has performed brilliantly in the qualifying round of Artistic Gymnastics World Cup.

She is First Indian Female Gymnast who creates history in the field of sports and games her will power is so strong.  Karmakar is one of the only five women who has successfully landed the Produnova, which is regarded as the most difficult vault currently performed in women's gymnastics.

Karmakar is a recipient of the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award in the Republic of India. For her performance in Rio Olympics 2016, the Government of India conferred upon her the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award in August 2016.

Deepa took the third spot to make it to the Vault Championship final. Deepa tried to perform her first hand which is most difficult Hand front 540 vaults. She scored 14.466 and 14.133 points in two qualifying round vaults and earned an average of 14.299 points.

The Finals will be held on Saturday at Baku in Azerbaijan.

America's Z. Kara finished first in the qualifying round with an average score of 14.70, while Mexico's Alexa Moreno secured second place with 14.533 points.

Gymnastics that were in Top 8 will play in the Walt Final which will be on Saturday. Deepa, who is fourth in Rio Olympics in 2016.

"It's a good performance by Dipa. Let us hope that she stands on the podium after Saturday's final and take one more step towards Olympic qualification," Gymnastics Federation of India vice president Riyaz Bhati said.

Dipa won the bronze at the vault event of the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Cottbus, Germany in November last year. It was her first appearance after recovering from a knee strain, which had forced her, missed the vault final in the Jakarta Asian Games
