200 US Companies wants to Make India a Manufacturing Hub Instead of China

Nearly 200 companies in America want to make India a manufacturing hub. For this, these companies want to bring their projects from China after the Lok Sabha elections to India. The statement has been given by the US-India Strategic and Partnership Forum, a voluntary group that advocates strengthening the relations of America and India.

The group said that there are excellent opportunities available in India for companies looking for any other option in place of China. Group President Mukesh Aghi said that many companies are talking to them and asking how China's choice can be made by investing in India.

Mukesh Aghi said that the group will suggest a new government to accelerate reforms and bring transparency in the decision making process. He said, "I think it is sensitive. We suggest bringing more transparency in the process and making it more advisable in 12 to 18 months. We are seeing that decisions such as e-commerce, local level storage of data, etc. are not considered by the American companies as a local factor," he said.

Asked what the new government should do to attract investment, he said that the new government should speed up the pace of reform, bring transparency in the decision-making process, and should emphasize consultation with more parties. He lobbied also for the Free Trade Agreement between India and the United States.
