20 Dead, Over 1000 Injured in Powerful Earthquake in Eastern Turkey

The epicenter of this earthquake was in the city of Sivarais in the eastern province of Elajig. Sports centers, schools and guest houses have been opened in Malatya to give shelter to the earthquake victims.

Elazig (Turkey): At least 20 people were killed and more than 1,000 people were injured in the devastating earthquake in eastern Turkey on Friday night. Rescuers also started searching for the survivors in the rubble of the buildings in the early hours of Saturday. The earthquake measured 6.8. At least 30 people are missing after the earthquake. Home Minister Suleman Soylu said, "There is no trap in the wreckage in Malatya but search and rescue operations are underway to locate 30 people in Elajig."

Sports centers, schools and guest houses have been opened in Malatya to give shelter to the earthquake victims.
