15 People Arrested So Far in Daryaganj Violence Case

Protests have been going on in Delhi's Rajdhat since Saturday morning to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act. Earlier, the dharna outside the police headquarters, which started from Friday night, ended on Saturday morning, then the same protesters have gone to Rajghat. At the same time, according to the Samajar Agency PTI, 15 people have been arrested in the case of violent demonstrations in Daryaganj area on Friday evening. All these 10 people are accused of rioting and assault on the police.

Meanwhile, all the metro stations have been open since morning.At night, Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekhar Azad was taken into custody by the police. On Friday, the police tried to take him into custody, but he remained in hiding till late in the night.

Earlier on Friday, the protests turned violent. In Delhi, miscreants pelted stones at police and blew a car. The protesters started a sit-in outside the police headquarters late at night. In view of the violent demonstration, Rapid Action Force (RAF) took out a flag march in Daryaganj area late evening.

On Friday also 19 metro stations had to be closed. On the other hand, violent clashes with the miscreants also occurred in Ghaziabad, Modinagar, Muradnagar, Sahibabad and Hapur. The miscreants threw stones and fired at the police. Many policemen were injured and more than 110 people have been detained. Mobile Internet service in Ghaziabad remained closed throughout the day. It will be closed till 10 am on Saturday. Internet services in many areas of Delhi were also suspended for some time.
