In order to promote tourism in remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, the Central Government has started the action to build 13 unserved airports under Udaan-4 scheme. They are also called small airports. Under the Udaan-4 scheme, invitations have been invited to build the unserved airport in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
This has been confirmed by Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Puri on the social site Twitter on Thursday. In the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha also, the people’s representatives of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh were constantly raising the issue that under the Udaan-4 scheme, the central government should open the new airports to fulfill the expectations of the people.
Union Minister Hardeep Puri wrote on the social site that the new airport will restore connectivity in remote areas in Jammu and Kashmir. This will give a boost to tourism as well as create employment opportunities in the region. This will also promote economic activities.
He further wrote, Promotion of air services in Jammu and Kashmir is the priority of the Central Government. Therefore, airlines are being given extra support to run airlines here.
